Lucky 2 Have U

"Lucky to have you" is my favorite sentiment to use for St. Patrick's Day cards because they can also be used for an anniversary card.  I planned my entire card around this typewriter that I fussy cut from Jillibean Soup "Sweet and Sour" paper.  All of the other papers and stickers are from Echo Park "For the Record."  I was drawn to the 2 and U typewriter-style stickers.

I purchased everything to create this card from the Shop Pumpkin Spice store:

Supplies:  Jillibean Soup "Sweet and Sour" (typewriter); Echo Park For the Record "Fabric Store", "Newsprint", "Alpha Stickers", and "Element Stickers"

Here are some previous cards that
I have made using Echo Park "For the Record":
and I have another new "For the Record"
card that I will post this Saturday!

I hope you shop at Pumpkin Spice for all of your paper-crafting supplies :)

Happy Thursday!

Happy St.Patrick's Day!

February is nearing the end and St. Patrick's Day is on the way!

I had fun perusing my stamp sets and papers to create a
spring card with a flower.

For my sentiment I chose the

A festive font, don't you agree?

The Joy's Life design team has created

Xs and Os for Jillibean Soup

This week's challenge on the Pumpkin Spice blog is "Xs and Os."  I immediately thought of these papers that came in one of my Artful Delight kits from February 2012; I thought it only appropriate to also use them for the February challenge at Artful Delight.  The corrugated butterfly is also Jillibean Soup from my stash.  The twine and brad are from retired Shop Pumpkin Spice kits.

Supplies:
paper:  Jillibean Soup "Sweet and Sour"; Bazzill card stock
corrugated butterfly:  Jillibean Soup
brad
twine
punch:  5/8" circle (for "X O X O")

I hope you will link up with me for the "Xs and Os" challenge and/or the Artful Delight challenge.

Happy Saturday!

BasicGrey Clippings at Shop Pumpkin Spice

I created this fun little card from BasicGrey "Clippings" 6x6 papers, snippets, and adhesive chipboard pieces.  The "LOVE" typewriter stickers are by Rusty Pickle.  And I added a few staples.

I showed this card to my husband and he said, "You No Love me?"  Oh dear!  Perhaps I should have chosen the number of years we have been together or the number of years we have been married for the red "No." snippet :)

Do you have a creative faux pas you care to share?  Hopefully I gave you a giggle with mine today!

You can find BasicGrey "Clippings" at the Shop Pumpkin Spice store.  Don't forget to link up your love-themed cards, LOs, and projects on the Shop Pumpkin Spice blog.  (Link up love projects here by 9pm PST Friday, February 22nd.)

Happy Birthday, Joy!

This week the Joy's Life design team is celebrating
the birthday of our leader, Joy!
We are creating birthday cards this week.
Please check out the inspiration here every day this week.

My circular sentiment is from "All Around Sentiments":

I stamped my sentiment in white pigment ink
and embossed with white embossing powder.
I cut paper strips in various widths and
glued them diagonally on white card stock.

My papers are all from Echo Park
"So Happy Together" 6x6 pad.
The butterfly framelits die, pearls,
white gel pen, ink pad, embossing powder,
and foam dimensionals are all by Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday, Joy!

Sketch and Love and good news!

I have some BasicGrey "Hopscotch" chipboard pieces and die cuts strewn about my workspace leftover from my "Hugs & Kisses" card I posted on Tuesday.  I have a tendancy to put the extra pieces in a snack-size Ziploc baggie and forget that I own them, so I left them out in hopes that I will use them.

I also recently perused my 6x6 pads and found a never used BasicGrey "What's Up" paper pad.  I chose a few "What's Up" papers to coordinate with seven bits and pieces on my desk and this Cardabilities sketch:
My good news:  I found out earlier this week that I made the Cardabilities design team for March 15th-June 30th 2013!  You could have knocked me over with a feather.  If you are a follower, you may know how much I enjoy sketch challenges AND that it was my heart's desire to be on a sketch challenge blog design team.

I have followed Cardabilities since April 2010!  The challenge for this particular sketch (#69) is open until February 27th.  Link up here.

I will also enter this card in the "Love" challenge on the Shop Pumpkin Spice blog.  That challenge ends February 22nd @ midnight EST.  Link your love-themed projects here.

Happy Saturday!

A Doodlebug Lollipop Bouquet - teacher gift

Happy Valentine's Day!  I created this lollipop bouquet for my daughters' teachers.  Last month I thought I was clever buying the girls' valentines early.  Earlier this week the school system announced that no candy valentines may be exchanged.  My daughter was distraught (she can be so dramatic and it is humorous!)  I told her I would buy pencils for the valentines and use the lollipops for her teachers.

Target to the rescue!  I found this little box in the dollar spot at Target and a bag of brightly colored pencils too.  I covered the front and back of the box with Doodlebug "Sweet Cakes" 6x6 from Shop Pumpkin Spice store.

There is still time to link up your cards, LOs, and projects for a chance to win on the Shop Pumpkin Spice Valentine challenge (link up by midnight tomorrow EST.)

Have a SWEET Valentine's Day!

Echo Park - Boy Birthday Card

As I was purging my craft room earlier this month I came across my Echo Park "So Happy Together" 6x6 paper pad.  I honestly don't know why I haven't played with this particular paper pad more often!  I think it is so versatile and fun.  These cars were so cute and I knew I wanted to make a boy birthday card.

I cut my papers and the star (Cricut "Plantin Schoolbook" @ 3").  I added faux stitching to the star, but it still needed something.  I perused my little box of glazed brads and found this blue herringbone pattern with My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two.  The circles beneath it came from the My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose glazed brads; I just substituted the L&F2 brad in its place.  My sentiment came from the "Girlie Doodles" stamp set.  (I got all of these items at the Shop Pumpkin Spice online store.  If you are a frugal shopper like me, this is the place to shop!)

Last fall I made this card with this same Echo Park "So Happy Together" pad:

and last summer I made these (combined with some My Mind's Eye "Lime Twist" papers for the grass):

See what I mean?  A very versatile little collection :)

Are you still making Valentines?  Don't forget to link up your valentine card, LO, or project to the Shop Pumpkin Spice Valentine challenge for a chance to win!  You can link up until Friday night, February 15th at midnight EST.

Happy Ash Wednesday!

Hugs and Kisses Valentine card

This week the Joy's Life design team is creating
Valentine's Day cards.

I am smitten with the font for this "Hugs & Kisses" sentiment.

This comes from my favorite Joy's Life stamp set, "Wintery Puns":

My papers and chipboard accents are BasicGrey "Hopscotch."

Isn't this a fantastic font?  *Swoon*

Happy Tuesday!

Which came first...the chicken or the egg?

Hi!  Welcome to the Joy's Life February blog hop!

I created a crazy card:

My punny sentiment is from "Yummy Puns":

Our challenge: 3D Animals and Card Folds.

My chick is a 3D action wobble and the
cracked egg is a different sort of card fold:

Here is the action wobble in action:

Last week our basement flooded.  I lost some paper crafting magazines, 12x12 papers, and 12x12 collections (all older stash) that is drying out.  I plan to cut the papers that I can salvage parts of.  Before I start trying to clean basement stash and move it into my craft room as I sort/cut/salvage, I have been purging my craft room and getting it in perfect order...I can't work in chaos.

I love to organize, and it has been fun going through every shelf and drawer in my craft room and being reminded of some wonderful items.  Like this action wobble!  A blog friend sent me several last summer and they were buried under piles of stuff on my desk.  And all of the papers for today's project came from various Artful Delight kits from 2011 and 2012 :)

Isn't it fun to create a unique card from bits and pieces?

Thank you for hopping by!

Your next stop on the hop:

*and the answer to my post title:  the egg.
1.  I cut the cracked egg from my Cricut "Create a Critter" cartridge @ 3 1/4".  I used temporary adhesive and glued the two pieces, spacing apart.  This became my guide to hand cut the rough oval shape of the card.
2.  I cut two small banners and scored three lines in the middle 1/8" apart.  I glued one to the top and one to the bottom of my rough oval.
3.  I covered the base (from step 1) with patterned paper.  I glued the other half of each banner to the cracked egg pieces, then covered the egg pieces with patterned paper.  The chicken came last : )  She was cut at the same size and from the same Cricut cartridge.

Celebrate with Mel!

Today's post is in honor of my lovely Twitter and blog friend, Melissa Shea.  In addition to being a sweet and thoughtful person, Mel has oodles of talent.  I adore her style.  And what are we celebrating?  Mel now has 100 followers!
Quite often Mel has several cards in a single post.  Eye candy galore!  That is why I created three cards for this post, rather than just one.
I hope you will stop by Mel's blog, "Love my Scraps."  If you are enamored with her style as much as I am, you can be her 101st follower :)

Congrats, Melissa.  I love you, Girl!

Joyful Hearts Valentine's Day card

This week the Joy's Life design team theme is LOVE.
I hope you will stop by every day this week and see what my
LOVE-ly cards my design team sisters have made.

I chose to use this sweet solid heart from the "Joyful Hearts" stamp set:

I also used the word stamps from "Holiday Occasions":

super cute font, right?
Happy Tuesday!
