Lauren, are you near 46 South Park Place, Morristown, NJ 07960? That would be the closest location to you. Of course I do not know if the owner of that store can get the famous chocolate tea cakes...but at least you could get a decent cuppa joe and not have to go to Starbucks!
P.S. GO REDSKINS!!!

A little mass production goin' on. I usually like to make one-of-a-kind cards or maybe a few of the same/similar. Of course, that's what happens when I try to make cards out of every last scrap...I like the challenge of that. But once in a while a little mindless mass production is therapeutic.
My left index finger is a little sore opening up all the mini brads used on both cards :) The "O" in "JOY" is popped up on dimensionals, though the pic makes it look flush with the card.
Many of my blogger friends have posted that they are a bit frazzled with Christmas preparations and not having time to scrap. I'm behind on some things and ahead on others. And you know what? I'm not even stressin' over it. E.g. I am gonna send out Christmas photo cards again this year, but the photo has not been taken yet :) Hey, I figure as long as I send them out before the Epiphany, I'm okay, right? But I have already written and sent 7 thank you notes for Christmas gifts. I also got all the gifts that needed to be sent wrapped and mailed and all have been received as of yesterday. And the girls' teachers, teacher assistants, therapists, and bus driver & her assistant have all received there gifts and sent me thank you notes. But I have not finished buying Julia & Kathryn's gifts or their stocking stuffers. Buying for them is SO much fun, so I'm saving the best for last.
I have today and tomorrow, and then Friday morning I am meeting Tracy at Greenberry's. What a GREAT way to kick off the big holiday weekend :)
And if you are curious about today's title, "Don't get me started on 'Joy'", it is a quote from one of our favorite tv shows, "Monk." Adrian Monk (Tony Shaloub) does not like Christmas, and in this year's Christmas episode he says that at the beginning of the episode. He cracks me up! I have that playing over and over in my head today. I took the online Monk quiz and I scored "more Monkish than most". Go, ME!

I made the blue floral & stripes card first. I used discontinued MM double-sided cs, 6 mini brads, and an SU! green gem brad. Sentiment by PSX. I agonized over this card, and I'm not sure about the end result. So I took a shower and the idea to use black, white, and red popped in my head. The black & white are both Bazzill cs. Sentiment is Hero Arts. Black snaps by MM. Faux stitching using a paper piercer and a white gel pen. The red polka dot paper I found in the trash can at the scrapbook store. (I love me a good scrap!) This one seems to be too bare at the bottom. Hmmmm....any suggestions?

1 @12"x12" Sharon Ann paper,
4 @ 3"x6" Bazzill cs, scored & folded,
Amercan Crafts rub-ons "Ginger" font,
American Crafts double-sided ribbon, and
scallop and circle punches from coordinating Sharon Ann paper
For mass production and speed, use Cricut for circles and scallop punches OR SU! punches. The "purse" is one entire sheet of 12x12, scored and folded...no cutting involved! I learned how to make the "purse" from Sue(http://www.welovetostamp.com/). Isn't she awesome?

Since moving to northern Virginia, I have made some new good friends. First, Tracy (a Jersey girl http://suzyscrapbooker.blogspot.com/ & http://smallsmackerels.blogspot.com/). I started reading (and loving) the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (both Jersey girls).
Then Mary (no blog; a Jersey girl). Then my dh (who was born in NJ) took me to a book signing to meet my favorite author, Sharon Kay Penman (Jersey girl). Then I met Jean(http://prettykittydogmoonjewelry.blogspot.com/; from NY...close enough to Jersey, right?). Then Lauren (Jersey girl; http://llaurenb.blogspot.com/).
Are you sensing a pattern here? Or maybe I just need to get more sleep...
If you are from Jersey, please comment. If not, it really isn't your fault. Don't feel bad, leave a comment anyway. If you are not reading this, you are not obligated to leave a comment.

A day or two ago
We thought we’d make a treat
For all our special friends
A Christmas treat to eat.
Our intentions were top notch
But our schedules wouldn’t budge
Hence, here’s this year’s edition
Of homemade Christmas fudge.

Tough choice...Bazzill or Basic Grey...Bazzill it is.
2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or rubons, which would you choose?
I would choose stamps.
3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year...which would you do?
Cards. More instant gratification.
4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home...(can't have both he he he).
Scrapping room. ..I have a scraproom that is a constant work in progress to find better organization and storage solutions AND use up stash to make room for new incredible stash that I can't live without :)
5. What is your CURRENT cardmaking or scrapping style?
Would have to say my style is simple and (hopefully) elegant. Hey, that's a good name for a blog...
5 people I am tagging: Tracy, Lauren, Corie, Amy, and Ila.

I still have 5 or six of these Making Memories latch cards and jellies. I found some scraps of Magenta paper and adhered to the edge and latch to cover up sun damage on the card. I distressed with walnut stain on the edges. It still looked blah, so I found a stamp in my stash and stamped a background with my Versamark pad. Better.

Two more cards using Bazzill chips. (In case you are wondering, 20 different cs stickers come on a sheet. I gave two away, and I have 6 left still!)
I want to thank my good friend, Tracy (http://smallsmackerels.blogspot.com/). She bestowed the "Creative Blogger Award" upon me: For those who incorporate art, music, creative writing, photos, and other beautiful visual effects into their website. For those who put a unique spin on things and come up with new ideas. This award is for the artsy, the funky, the inventor, and even the rebel. This award is for those creative individuals who stand out from the crowd.
I wish to nominate Amy (http://pickledpaperdesigns.blogspot.com/) for this award. Amy is a new blogger, but I have known her for over a year. I love her cards and creations.
I also want to thank Jean (http://prettykittydogmoonjewelry.blogspot.com/), who I have not known nearly as long as sweet Tracy, but I have deep respect and affection for. Jean awarded me with the "The Inspirational Blogger Award": For those bloggers who inspire others through their words and actions. With a positive attitude, and an uplifting spirit these bloggers make the blogosphere a better place, and encourage others to do the same. This award is for bloggers who rise up to set an example but continue to reach out and support others."
I would like to nominate Lauren (http://llaurenb.blogspot.com/) for this award. If she is not on your favorites, add her NOW! I dare you not to smile and giggle at her posts. Lauren has a fantastic sense of humor and wonderful whimsical cards.
I love you, Tracy & Jean! I feel so honored that these two creative and art geniuses think so much of me, the math geek :) Everytime I get a blogger award my husband says,"And I've been nominated to the National Geographic Society." Should I give him a playful smack?

This morning my dh asked me if I wanted to go on a bonus coffee date (we usually have our coffee dates once each week.) Of course I said, "YES, as long is it is not followed by any more accidents!" We went on our date, and all the halloween cards and birthday cards from Monday's post have sold. I came home, made more Halloween and birthday cards, and took them back to Greenberry's . I forgot to take pictures to post here on my blog! Serious brain fog going on here!
